STUDY ONE
My inspiration came from those old school Golden Books + Mary Blair style. I kept my stars simple and consistent, and left the detailing in the actual shading of the background.
I originally meant to keep the style simple and flat-- but after showing it off a bit, I realised I'd maybe gone TOO flat. I tried a second study:
STUDY TWO
I kind of sacrificed the pointy end of his rocketship, but all in all I'm WAY happier with this study. I kept the Little Golden Books look about it, but added some perspective to make it more interesting.
